Every superhero has an origin story and I really think that every photographer does as well! We all have a reason that we became a photographer and a path that led us here, so here is mine!

Born in Houston, raised in SW Detroit, and forever consumed with answering the question: Why is that compelling? Taking pictures has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. As a child, I would routinely buy disposable cameras from our local drugstore to shoot portraits of practically everything. Although creating images has been a constant passion and interest, I spent my college years studying supply chain, and being a mother of four incredible children. It may appear off topic, but I gained immeasurable insight into what it means to work hard, with passion, vision, intention, and artistry. My work is an obsession, so every day and every shoot is an opportunity to learn and to further develop my craft - discovering more about myself, and my fellow earthlings.

When I was young I would spend hours reading fictional books, National Geographic magazines and I had a big interest in outer space. I loved looking at the photos, I found they were a way to be transported to a time and place that you’ve never been to. My time spent with these books and magazines shaped my life in a way I never imagined. My love of the environment, history and (not-surprisingly) photography were formed as a result of my love from reading. And I always dreamed of becoming a travel blogging photographer.

I strive to create photographs that not only capture a moment, but also capture a feeling and essence.

I am available for private portrait sessions, as well as events in the Metro Detroit area and open to traveling to you as well. Prints of my personal work will also be available for purchase.
